Now let’s consider all the SBUs that make up a global organization. What if every SBU has established quantum infrastructures throughout its work units and has effectively aligned/deployed all of its formal systems? And what if all members in every SBU have acquired the skills to conduct gradual—and radical—improvement for their business and cross-business processes? The progression continues: What if the members in every SBU are also able to describe, control, and improve all core learning processes within and across subunits? Figure 5.45 suggests that such an integration of SBUs, coordinated by the core, has the best chance of achieving strategic objectives and the strategic architecture—with e-business and more.
